We have numerous real heroes that should be honored i/o Confederate traitors:

Heroism can't be just about the courage to stand, but to stand up for the right thing. It is way past time to replace courageous men of the south who stood for enslavement with courageous men and women who have sacrificed their lives to ensure equality and justice. Some ideas:
? General John Buford, a gallant cavalry officer during the Civil War, notable for his exploits at Gettysburg.
? John J. Pershing who commanded the American Expeditionary Force during World War I.
? Omar Bradley, “the G.I. General,” known for his humility. He earned five stars over a long career that took him from Normandy to Korea.
? Norman Schwartzkopf, or “Stormin’ Norman,” who commanded the U.S.-led allied force that smashed Iraq during the first Gulf War.
?Mary Walker is the only woman to receive a Medal of Honor. The Union Army did not accept her credentials as a medical doctor in 1861 so she volunteered. Two years later she was able to join the army and became a War Department surgeon. She was held as a Confederate prisoner of war for four months.
? And why not a Fort Tuskegee? The African American and Caribbean-born pilots —known collectively as the Tuskegee Airman — fought gallantly in the Army Air Corps throughout World War II.
What about Dwight D. Eisenhower? Or General McArthur? But I think my favorite would be Fort McCain.

Then there are Audie Murphy and Roy Benavidez from TX and Alvin York from TN.
