Scangraphics Unit, Tangent Imaging Systems Joins ReproCAD as an Exclusive Business Partner

Tangent Imaging Systems(TM), a division of Scangraphics(R), Inc., (NASDAQ: SCNG), a pioneer and leader in large format scanning and imaging software, announced that it has worked with ReproCAD, a premier reprographics trade association, to develop an exclusive Technology and Business Partnership involving mutual support, networking, and technological exchange in the area of large format color scanners and related software.
Since November 1997, ReproCAD association affiliates have purchased 5 Tangent color scanning systems and have committed to purchase 10 more by February 1998 amounting to approximately $750,000 in color scanning products sold to ReproCAD affiliates in only three months. This significant growth in sales of Tangent's products into the North American reprographics market mirrors the outstanding sales growth Tangent registered in the European reprographics market during 1997. Tangent's 1998 business plan specifically targets the North American color reprographics market segment for focused sales and marketing attention. Tangent expects to generate a minimum of $1.4 million in 1998 revenues from this market segment.
A key goal of ReproCAD is to promote the tradition of excellence in the field of reprographics by monitoring developing opportunities in the market and uncovering new products. Through research, product training, technical support, and the exchange of timely information, ReproCAD keeps member firms on the cutting edge of reprographics technology. Tangent Imaging Systems became known to ReproCAD through Dave Dignam of San Jose Blue, a member firm located in San Jose, CA. During September 1997, San Jose Blue tested a Tangent SF44 sheetfeed scanner for accuracy and color reproduction. After the test, Dignam contacted ReproCAD with outstanding comments about Tangent products.
