interesting thing i noticed about u.s. education (may not apply to canada): some college professors complain about unprepared high school graduates, blaming high school teachers. some high school teachers complain about unprepared junior high school (8th grade) graduates, blaming junior high school teachers. some junior high school teachers complain about unprepared elementary school (6th grade) graduates, blaming elementary school teachers. some kindergarten teachers complain about unprepared five year olds, blaming parents. :0) my understanding is that management evaluates employees according to contract... and unions assure the evaluation is done according to contract. is this true in your area? if so, it seems like your concern has to do with management, not the union. bwdik.
