I've had GSDs for 30 years and their digestive issues are significant. As pups they can digest many things well and I raised dozens on Purina Puppy Chow, canned Mackerel in oil and an egg fried in olive oil. At 8 weeks they looked like bear cubs and typically lived 14 years.

Once they pass the 1st year I learned that even a seasoning of human food can cause bloody diarrhea that caused a 3 day eating stoppage. They don't seem to digest cooked meats. Perhaps raw meat is fine. Learned to free feed them nothing but Iams lamb and rice and a milkbone once in a great while.

When a dog is sick, the 1st thing they do is to stop adding food to their digestive system. Your dog probably was using a bit of self help.

Hope she's good.
