Yes, that is what happened. It's historical fact. But to say, "Cuban Spaniards" is not factual. Spaniards brutally conquered the Native Americans on Cuba first, even as they brought African slaves to the island as part of the triangle trade. Hundreds of years later, most Cubans are a mixture of Native American, African, and Spanish. That is why I look the way I look. I'm literally red, black, and European mixed together. I'm more brown than others, but many Cuban look white and we have everything in between. We have a saying among Cubans, "Long live Socialism! We are all equal in our poverty." You silly American Antifa types and BLM idiots will soon find out how great Communism is. Soon you will be just like the Cubans we left behind on the island. Poor and despaired. And I promise you one thing. I will be here to tell you this. "I told you so."
