Howdy GZ:

"The reported spike in infections has everything to do with having done more testing."

That and breathing excitedly on one another while comparing loot after a night of rioting...or standing together and screaming f u at cops and bystanders. I saw statistics on Memphis yesterday where a new spike coincides exactly with a week of rioting.

I am coming to the conclusion that these viruses will and must hit a certain proportion of the population before ending. New York got hammered early and is now doing pretty well. Other states are now catching up. The proportion varies with population density but I think there is some baseline number that it will reach sooner or later. Given that 20% or so already show they've had it (recent CDC estimate) and given natural immunity of maybe another 30% (I haven't seen a recent statistic on that) the virus runs out of vectors to spread through and starts naturally dying off. Cuomo or that idiot deBlasio don't deserve any credit in NY for their numbers suddenly looking much better. I just think its the math behind how these things spread and sooner or later those math laws take over.

Anyway, a few more weeks and we should see some of these new flare ups begin to roll over. I sure hope so!
