| | | Tenchu's Thoughts: Wake up, Republicans! Trump could lose!
(The following is paraphrased from Michael Moore's now poignant warning to Democrats in 2016.)
Friends, I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Biden is going to win in November.
This wretched, ignorant, dangerous full-time clown and dementia patient is going to be our next president. President Biden. Go ahead and say the words, ‘cause you’ll be saying them come next year: “PRESIDENT BIDEN.”
Never in my life have I wanted to be proven wrong more than I do right now.
I can see what you’re doing right now. You’re shaking your head wildly – “No, Tenchu, this won’t happen!” Unfortunately, you are living in a bubble that comes with an adjoining echo chamber where you and your friends are convinced the American people are not going to elect an idiot for president. You alternate between being appalled at him and laughing at him because of his latest crazy comment or his embarrassingly confused stance on everything because he doesn't know WTF he's talking about or where the f--- he is at any given moment. And then you listen to Trump and you behold our current president, someone that you think fights hard for conservatives everywhere, someone who is supposedly whip-smart and cares about America, who will buck the liberal craziness and continue Making America Great because that is what the American people clearly want! Yes! Four more years of this!
Here are 5 reasons why Trump is going to lose:
1) He is making all of the mistakes Hillary made and more. Hubris, corruption, foreign policy blunders, and a tendency to turn everything he touches into s--t. Like I keep saying, almost nothing Trump does is justifiable outside of liberal hypocrisy.
2) The world has changed, but he has not. Most of Trump's antics were tolerable when times were good and the economy was strong. But this is 2020, the year that will live in infamy. Jobs are gone, hundreds of thousands are dying to "Kung Flu" (dur dur), the economy is in the gutter, riots and vandalism are the new normal, yet Trump continues living in a complete bubble.
3) Incumbents are not safe this year. When things are a mess, people tend to vote out the incumbents, especially those who don't acknowledge what's going on. (See #2 above.) History has proven this time and time again, and not even Trump is immune to this.
4) People don't care if Biden is a dumbass. They aren't voting for Biden. They're voting against Trump. Biden puts the "yellow dog" in "yellow dog Democrat." People already know that Biden probably won't last one term as president, which is why his choice as running mate is being followed very closely. Unless Biden does something incredibly boneheaded like choose Hillary as his running mate, they're just going to vote for him knowing that he's just a figurehead.
5) Lost opportunities. Remember when Trump was going to build a wall? Remember when Trump was going to win a trade war against China? Remember when Trump was going to drain the swamp? Yeah, me too. Where are we now? The wall still hasn't been built. China is LTFAO at us. And the swamp is deeper than ever before. All this in less than four years.
“But Tenchu,” he said, “we have to vote for Trump. We HAVE to stop the Democrats. We HAVE to stop socialism.” I'm sure that's enough for you. To keep the left in check. And indeed, President Trump has been doing just that. A good chunk of the electorate still believes that socialism is not a good thing, else the Democrats would have nominated Comrade Bernie Sanders instead of Joe "You're full of s--t" Biden.
But looking at how many people live in alternate realities of their own making, I don't think enough people truly see the danger that the Democrats pose. They're gonna have to go through the hell that is Venezuela before they truly understand. They're gonna need a real dose of reality.
Until then, they're going to think that things can't get any worse than 2020. They have no idea. And that's why they're going to vote for Biden.
