Very definitely. And like you say, what if you just never heard of it and no one ever suggested dunking you? I am almost certain that for instance St. Francis, whose ministry goes off the Reichter scale in changing his times, didn't baptise people that I remember.
However, now I'd like to look it up as it seems very interesting.
