Gold: GATA board member Ed Steer, publisher of Ed Steer's Gold and Silver Digest, was interviewed the other day by Jim Goddard of HoweStreet.com. They discussed trader positioning in gold and silver futures, the shortage of gold and silver products on the retail level and their large premiums, the sharply rising investment in monetary metals exchange-traded funds and mutual funds, and the increasing intervention in all markets by central banks. Steer also noted that gold and silver mining shares have not been performing as well as the metals themselves.
