I never wanted to defund the police. That would be stupid. Why bother to have police then?

The problem I have with guns is that the vast majority of people ( and some police) don't know when and when not to use them. Here is a case in point:

About a month ago, I was starting up my car in the morning and warming it up, all of a sudden a guy in his 20s with a beard opens the rear door of my car and is sitting in my back seat. I turn around and say to the guy, " I think you are in the wrong car ". The guy says, " sorry, I thought you were the Uber driver " and proceeds to leave.

Now I have told this story to many Nevadans and most of them have said they would have shot the guy as soon as he entered the car since he was trespassing on private property. It is moronic statements like that which tell me that most people are not responsible gun owners and thus, should not own a gun .

The proper thing to do in the situation above was what I did. You ask the person to leave the car. If he refuses, then you use your gun. You don't shoot first. Doing so, will put you in jail unless the person has a weapon, which the guy in the above example, did not.

I am for educating people in the laws of when to use a gun. Then they can own a gun.

There are driver Ed courses. Why aren't there gun courses to learn not just how to operate a gun, but when and when not to use it?
