Math Strategies Announces CatchTheWeb

A Windows 95/NT Application for Collecting Web Pages

INTERNET SHOWCASE '98, SAN DIEGO, Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Math Strategies today announced CatchTheWeb, a Windows 95/NT application for collecting Web pages, that works seamlessly with Microsoft's Internet Explorer. Pages are collected by dragging the CatchTheWeb pushpin from the taskbar's icon tray and dropping it over a page in the browser. Captured pages are automatically available in the CatchTheWeb Composer, an integrated development environment. The Composer is typically used to build a structured, annotated presentation that can be compiled and run in Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer. Viewers of the presentations do not need to have a copy of CatchTheWeb.

CatchTheWeb is targeted at Web researchers, a broad category of professional Web surfers who use the Web to collect information through the use of search engines and meta-search sites. Math Strategies asserts that these users otherwise have few attractive alternatives for collecting information. These alternatives, which include printing, clipboarding, and bookmarking, do not allow the scripted playback of Web content in the browser.

Math Strategies has found it necessary to include three distinct JavaScript programs in each compiled presentation. This is due to the differences in HTML and DHTML between Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator over the last two releases.

Availability

CatchTheWeb will be available on Monday, March 16, for purchase via electronic software distribution through the company's link to the commerce server of Net Sales, Inc.

Math Strategies is a privately held software company that has built itself around the mission of enabling the reuse of published information. Its most visible achievement in this area is the continuing development of Monarch. Monarch, a product of Datawatch Corporation [Nasdaq:DWCH - news], enables users to view, analyze, and distribute data from existing computer reports.

NOTE: Product and service names may be trademarks of their respective companies. A beta version of the software on CD is available upon request.
