I read Malkiel many years ago, when I was young and impatient, and had no interest in dividends. Coincidentally, I came across this today, which I thought was cute: awealthofcommonsense.com I don't think I need to re-read Malkiel today, or Graham or Lynch for that matter, but Liar's Poker and When Genius Failed are financial history/entertainment definitely worth returning to every few years. Getting to the realization that "beating the market" is not the ultimate objective of investing took me a long time too. It's the main message of so much financial info/news/advice, but it's a such narrow view. On a lighter note, here's my favorite list of one-line summaries of complex ideas: friesian.com
