Good morning, Jane. Hope you are having a great day. I like to tell others about the blessing I receive from studying the Bible dispensationally and by asking myself who is being talked to by God and the desciples. You know, when Peter went to the Gentile house and was preaching, all of a sudden they were saved and baptised in the Holy Spirit. Well, if you look closely, I believe Peter was as surprised as he could be, seeing as how yhey had not been dunked. So, the only way he knows to rectify the problem is to dunk them after the fact. Now Paul saw God on the way to Damascus and God began to usher in a new dispensation to the Gentiles and He also has a remnant of born again Jews that have become Christians. However, they are scattered to the four winds because of persecution by the Judiazers and the Romans. As Paul receives more and more of the "mystery of Grace from God he realizes that their is only one baptism necessary, that being in the Holy Spirit. He begans to teach many groups but many of the Jewish Christians, still having a hard time changing from the system of Jewish legalism, comes behind him and tells the new Christians that they still have to be circumcised and what not. Even Peter is put in disfavor because after receiving the Word of Grace for the Gentiles, he starts hanging around with the people that are teaching legalism and sides with him. You can tell Paul is really upset with him. Truth is, it is still being preached to this day. Many preachers say we are saved (and live) under grace but try to establish the old legalism right in with the grace message. That is why we have to be so careful of mans rules and requirements. It is a source of confusion and not at all in line with the Word of God.
God bless,
James
