More than anyone wanted to know, but just one reason why I don't think you can just stamp things good and
bad, or better and worse. Maybe more like everything has it's time?

I was asked a while back when I bought AMZN, FB, etc., "I thought you were a dividend investor?"

Contrary to popular belief, one can invest for dividends and growth.

It started for me as a passing fancy, on the big dip in Dec. 2018. I had no idea that it would
become something I really enjoyed to boot. Previously I had been focused on getting the 20k income.

From last of Nov. 2018 to last of Jan. 2019, my IRA went from $306k to $319k, while the S+P went from
2760 to 2704. I can be pretty dumb, but smart enough to stay on a horse that's doing well.

I can't make stuff up. All the numbers are posted here.

End Nov. 2018 until last Friday, the S+P is +13.4%. Flat rate, not dividends reinvested.
My portfolio over the same span went from $306,034 to $439,550 +43.6%.

Beating the market over the long term is a fools game they say. Probably so, though I believe Bill
Miller did it for 15 years or something like that. There is always a cliff to go over, but being
a hard head, I'll wait for it.

My youngest is no longer afraid of the market. I believe mostly because her IRA has done well, as
well as having a big stash of cash in the bank. 13 years teaching under her belt. More comfortable.

I asked her toward the end of last year, if I could trade her taxable account for gains. Jokingly
said maybe she could make enough to pay her house off. I had some early success, allowing her to
"settle in".

End 2019 value, then todays value. First set of numbers is her IRA with all the usual suspects. Second set
is her taxable account over the same time frame. She has $39,183 of gains so far to take on next years
taxes. I pay that no attention. I've told her that I can just create cash in the account to pay the taxes.

Buying some trading stocks for her after they have gone against me, has definitely helped her account.

Not opposed to dividends there when I believe they are bargains. On the big sell off TSCO at $86.32 and
UTG at $26.60. Should have added to her AAPL.

I would gladly post all transactions in this account.

Her end of June holdings. Note only two with losses. I find I take them quicker with a big gain
to take them against, and I hold the winners longer too.
