It is called -using Peter Drucker's words- 'being right too early'. There are some constructions that are plain to see that they are not sustainable. Which is what I have been saying to TJ... HK is a case in point. It served a purpose and that is why the Chinese accepted the 1 country 2 systems. They had a plan. Very pragmatical. Use for as long as it was possible then dump the 1 country 2 systems, The Chinese are plain communists but they are not stupid. TJ isn't stupid either. He has been playing his crowd for 2 decades after all. Now for the Hong Kong hangers on, it is a different story, Things are going to get tough.HK will be kept as a mainland outpost and the hangers on will still be able to make a buck there. What not many people talk are the ramifications of the China's actions as the westerners tight the screws on HK. Some ramifications. How Taiwan will act from now on seeing HK's fate? The new HK administration would be implementing -very quickly- all the apparatus used on mainland to monitor the on line activities from now on. Expect surprises. No need to extradite. Just get the guy, throw in the back of the van and truck him over across the border. Big money is a different story. Right now they are sending messages to companies trying to move out.
