The teachers' unions in Ontario are abysmal.. no private sector involved.. They enable mediocrity and teachers that got th extra mile cannot speak out against inadequate colleagues or suffer censure.. It is ALWAYS for the children.. more money.. less work... and the children no longer matter to the union.. The system has been hijacked by the union..

OTOH 2008 saw the weakening of many unions dealing n the private sector.. so maybe it is public sector unions.. actually no maybe about it I guess... Lowering wages for once productive union jobs like the autoworkers in Ontario,, They were well paid but were also very productive.. that was VALUE...

One branch of Ontario government I see from experience has improved greatly.. Service Ontario.. Mind you there was semi privatization involved... regardless... service at government branches and private franchises has vastly improved in my 30 plus years in Ontario...

neoliberal LOL an oxymoron ? :)

at any rate.. I am clearly a fiscal Conservative and social Liberal.. Taxes are NOT bad.. but waste is a crime...

I believe in quality public ed and health care.. I mean not even what we have in Ontario to be sure.. it falls far short from quality it should be... I also believe we need a UBI... Let all start from pretty level ground... it will never be equitable.. but certainly can be levelled out much better... handouts should be rare.. hand ups should abound.. I believe in equality of opportunity.. not outcomes... you cannot legislate equality of outcomes.. it de incentives.. but equality of opportunity.. is a corollary to abhorring waste...
