FBI AGREES BOY!!!

Nascar officials and FBI investigators have not once disputed the fact the noose was found in Wallace’s garage stall. Nascar executives have announced that they had conducted a careful sweep of all 1,684 garage stalls at the 29 tracks the league uses, and the only noose was the one found in Wallace's garage. In his official statement, written with U.S. Attorney Jay E. Town, FBI Special Agent Johnnie Sharp Jr. used the word "noose" four times. Still, many Nascar fans were upset because they believed league officials had jumped the gun. When Nascar’s president, Steve Phelps, announced the league had completed its investigation, he took “full responsibility” and apologized for poor word choices used in Nascar's initial statement following the noose's discovery. Yet, Phelps reiterated that the noose was real, as was Nascar's concern for Wallace. After the conclusion of the investigation, Wallace tweeted, “I want to say how relieved I am that the investigation revealed that this wasn't what we feared it was . . . Make no mistake, though some will try, this should not detract from the show of unity we had on Monday, and the progress we’ve made as a sport to be a more welcoming environment for all.”
