Should AOC be representative of the coming generation of national leaders, interesting. Pick a young politician on the clear right end of spectrum and I likely would note the same.

One time I visited SMIC (semiconductor company in China) when it was first set up by overseas Chinese returnees, in its case from Texas. The somewhat important fellow I was accompanying asked me what I thought of the company after our three+ hours of conversation w/ the entire management group in the large conference room followed by a quick plant tour. Previous to the visit I knew nothing about the company.

I responded, “The shine in their eyes reminds me of some movies”. Enough said.

The company is now doing big IPO. Unclear if the management still sports born-again evangelical strain.

AOC is also someone exhibiting evangelical (not necessarily religious) shine in the eyes. Interesting.

Not against faith / religion.

Just to do not care for a certain shine in people’s eyes. Hard to precisely describe. Not exactly Stepford wives, but close.

Am sure AOC is a fine person meaning well, albeit possibly misguided.
