What's your take on this in light of the recent announcement by Compaq, Intel and Microsoft?

I think it means that DSL is ready for prime time!
And its now time for the RBOC's to get off of their collective behinds
and roll out DSL country-wide before wireless and cable get a toe hold.
Bottom line:
Paradyne's fantastic new MVL system, combined with the rapid progress
being made on all DSL fronts by other DSL venders, combined with major
UAWG DSL - standardization/consumer vender acceptance - progress,
combined with new major IP backbone roll-outs by Qwest, Williams, and
IXC, combined with the motivating growing threat of cable and wirelss
competition for the local - loop, combined with the impending rapid
spread of VPN solutions which will make dedicated Internet connections
usable and compelling, means DSL will be screaming by the end of '98!

Let the DSL times roll!
