Docs from pri-med and for the rest of their careers are trained to think in terms of mechanisms — of normal function, of diseases — and how and why treatments work. One doesn’t need to be a pro researcher for that. That’s why it sounds a little off when a clinician gives an impassioned talk about a treatment, but doesn’t offer any likely mechanism of why it works. And yet, it’s not so hard to find all kinds of data in the literature. A couple of google searches, and you find old and new studies, theories, and what not.

Doesn’t mean he’s not telling the truth about his experience. Just off. We shall see.
