What is today’s Covid fatality rate? Good question. Decided to check with the CDC.

Heard that they recently updated the CDC page on this subject. Checked it — their best estimate scenario is that it’s 0.65%.

One little problem. Before, they had a breakdown by age groups. Now, it appears that they’ve lumped everyone together into this 0.65 IFR. Whether you're 20 or 90, you're lumped into that 0.65% number - even though in real life, the difference would be enormous.

They call this their pandemic planning scenarios??

I call it obfuscation.

I heard that there was pressure on the CDC. Apparently, publicizing those super low fatality rates among the young people undermined any support for lockdowns. Tomorrow when I have time, I’ll look it over again. If that’s what they did, shame on them. Screw them.
