"which said that a fungus, Candida tropicalis, combined with e-coli causes a bioslime which thry think is causal of Crohns damage."

Sorry about your friend. My sister has Crohns and it under control only thanks to some very expensive meds. Seem impossible to get her to change her diet. One reason, doctors don't like to recommend diets changes is because they fail so often...very low probability of success of any given patient sticking to the diet.

Healthy good bacteria would also limit fungi growth as they compete for the same food. One the popular foods linked to unbalancing the bacteria in your cut is artificial sweeteners. Apparently they are consumed by sugar loving bacteria which starves them and limits their reproduction. These bacteria help regulate the blood glucose and are a buffer to diabetes. And, of course, ironically diabetics replace sugar with artificial sweeteners when they should just be cutting the sugar...

Maybe people should just eat real food instead of processed...its is really not that hard and is also delicious once your palette adjusts and makes you feel better once your gut adjusts.
