Camps Bay of Cape Town is a proper (best) area property24.com

There are other good areas similarly proper and perfectly fine, at perhaps 20-40% drop depending on proximity to neighboring areas that may be less-best, but with gorgeous views and wonderful gardens, and closer in distance to amenities (10 min instead of 20 min)

Am guessing, that should one put 100% to a bank on no-withdraw basis, use 50% to buy DRD and as security for the loan of 50%, and hold for dividends, and use other loan to pay 1/2 deposit on whichever house at whatever 100% price, the house would be free over a 5-10 years period, plus appreciation in ZAR terms

The math is strange. Quantum monetary theory at work.

I think S Africa is currently trending from bad towards okay, but can certainly revert towards worse due to any number of factors

Of course what I noted can be said of lots of places, unfortunately.
