Of all the Nay votes, the vast majority were Democrat. In fact, the Nay vote represented a larger ratio of Democrats to Republicans than that of the entire Senate (3.5:1 vs. 2:1).

Or let me put it this way:

Percentage of Democratic senators who voted in favor of the bill: 69%
Percentage of Republican senators who voted in favor of the bill: 82%

That was a little trick I like to call "math."
