Massive flooding took place in 2010.

The video embedded in this tweet is brilliant in explaining the absolutely negligent way in which the system was designed. Three major rivers that are essentially uncontrolled flow into the Yangtze. Their enormous flows are on the way to Three Gorges. Plus, the Tibetan plateau flows I don't think have arrived. Even if it doesn't collapse (it shouldn’t), Three Gorges will be discharging huge amounts of water downstream for a long time, i.e., causing even more flooding. And the torrential rains haven’t stopped.

It’s a huge disaster now, but it will get even worse. A humanitarian cataclysm. Katrina was a walk in the park, relatively speaking.

The CCP cannot do a thing about it, except evacuate millions. I pity the millions of Chinese who will suffer massive losses, displacement etc. Health issues will be huge. Food, hunger...very bad situation.

The video is succinct.
