| | | Sdgla, I'm really amazed at how resistant many Americans are to wearing face masks. Often said resistance comes from the alt-right. Just socially distance and wear the fsckin' mask when you are indoors with other people, for God's sake.
Meanwhile Trump is pushing way too hard to get schools to open up. This despite the following news article:
Almost one-third of Florida children tested are positive for the coronavirus
By the way, you were the one who told me that children do not pass the virus onto adults, but where do you think these children got the virus from?
And why is the transmission of the virus only one-way from adult to child? Common sense dictates that it goes both ways.
Also the death rate from children getting COVID-19 is very low, but there's still a significant number who will get MIS-C. This is not something you can easily dismiss:
For Parents: Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C) associated with COVID-19
By the way, I REALLY didn't like how the Trump administration went out of their way to criticize Dr. Fauci over the last weekend. That was beyond stupid, and I don't know how anyone can justify that outside of a political context.
Anthony Fauci has been wrong about everything I have interacted with him on: Peter Navarro
That op-ed by Navarro was full of half-truths, cherry-picked data points, and bad conclusions. There was nothing scientific about the thought process that went into it. It was all written in a way to deny reality and clear up those pesky roadblocks toward reopening the economy sooner than we should.
There's a reason why America is now the world's epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic. I'm sick of it. Even China and Europe now are looking at us like we're complete and utter disease cases.
This could have been Trump's time to shine as a leader, but instead everything he does reflects a desire that this pandemic would just go away. I used to criticize Obama for "leading from his behind," but Trump is worse in this aspect, and he is going down in a ball of flames.
And I don't care how right-wingers on this thread attack me and put me on Ignore for saying this, nor do I care how many libtards "recommend" this post. We can beat this thing if we actually used our heads and stopped being in denial over it.
Or we can just hurry our way toward "herd immunity," which is a very pyrrhic victory.
