Jefferson taxed land. He gave away land and then taxed it. Jefferson also said, "taxes are a necessary evil." What a person says isn't always reality. Look at all the lies republicans say about tax cuts giving us balanced budgets. Every word sounds good but every word was a lie. Republicans can't raise taxes because they're wimps. Real men pay for what they spend. There aren't any real men in the gop.
