I can't help feeling he would have hesitated (confusion) to shoot two males. His hatred would be for that one female. Just my intuition.

The more I think of it, the odder and odder the Russian connection seems. If I let my imagination run, I can imagine he was somehow coerced, and then goofed at the last minute.

Too much unknown. Perhaps we'll know bits in time.
