If it was certain that gold and silver prices would hold up where they are or better for a few years, the chances of a buyout would be good, I think. The problem is that there is so much uncertainty now, about the economy and the markets, that must make potential buyers cautious.
This CruxInvestor interview with the CEO of Western Copper & Gold (WRN) reminded me of Chesapeake - an enormous resource, required enormous capex to exploit it.
