I don’t always agree with him, and in fact we sometimes/often clash. Doesn't diminish my respect for Mq.
A good example is that way back in the day, perhaps in the late 1980s, he saw the potential for CDMA, the algorithm that powers most present cell phone communications. Saw that QCOM had core patents, invested early and heavily, and made a bloody big fortune. I was a bit late to the party, but I was there nonetheless. I made a fortune, too, but pissed it away. Ask Lindy Bill, he was there, too.
Mq. had the vision to see the potential in it and capitalized in a big, big way.
That took real smarts. And vision, not to mention some testicular fortitude as it wasn’t always peaches, cream, and balloons. Tough, tough, sledding.
So, I never discount Mq. He often pisses me off, but that’s OK. I can live with it. |
