As Biden tries to pick a running mate and remember if he is Joe or Jill Biden, Bernie Bros are bailing on him.
Politico reported, "More than 360 delegates, most of whom back Sanders, have signed on to a pledge to vote against the Democratic Party’s platform if it does not include support for Medicare for All, the petition’s organizers told Politico. They argue that single-payer health care is an urgent priority amid a worldwide pandemic and the biggest unemployment crisis since the Great Depression."
Medicare for all actually is Medicaid for all as there would be no premiums, deductibles, or co-payments.
The Politico story said, "The warning is all but certain to set up a clash between Sanders’ most dedicated supporters and presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden, who opposes Medicare for All, at a time when the party is seeking to demonstrate unity ahead of its August convention. Though the petition signers have little chance of revising the platform to include Medicare for All support, they do have the numbers to draw attention to their protest and cause.
"It is also likely to trigger fears among Democratic leaders about a repeat of the 2016 convention, when the party’s divides were on public display as Sanders supporters booed the mention of Hillary Clinton."
The enthusiasm gap is real.
In Michigan, crazy Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib faces a tough primary.
Newsweek asked her, "Why is difficult for you to just say 'I endorse Joe Biden for president?"
She replied, "Because I don't want to get into a debate with my residents. Residents come up to me and say, 'Rashida, I don't know. I hear Joe Biden this, Joe Biden that.' I say, 'Listen, do we need another four years of Trump? No. Then what I need you to do is go out there and focus on that.' If the ultimate goal is to get rid of Donald Trump, that doesn't have to involve me actually endorsing Biden. My constituents don't need to be bogged down in, 'Is he the best candidate?' That's not what you have to convince my residents. They need to come out in droves and be inspired by something. And that is going to be a vote against Donald Trump."
Therein lies the problem.
Not enough people are voting for Biden to beat President Trump. Democrats hope that H8 will save them.
In fact, many Democrats H8 Biden.
Breitbart News reported, "Nina Turner, a onetime Ohio state senator who co-chaired Sanders’ failed 2020 campaign, made the comparison while discussing with The Atlantic the choice facing progressives this election cycle."
She said of voting for Biden, "It’s like saying to somebody, ‘You have a bowl of shit in front of you, and all you’ve got to do is eat half of it instead of the whole thing.’ It’s still shit."
4 years ago, Donald Trump faced a similar situation. Many party leaders hated him. But he held huge rallies and won over Republican and conservative voters.
Biden could never do that. Besides, the pandemic panic has taken that option off the table.
As the Democrat-sanctioned riots continue, they amp up demands by a large segment of the Democrat Party for a communist takeover of America. The people throwing rocks and bottles of water at cops are not going to bother voting. Why should they? The media keeps telling them the election is in the bag and that their "peaceful protests" are honorable.
Meanwhile, a backlash rises among people who will actually vote. |
