Seems to me that R. Palmer worked himself a good deal. Reminds me of the COMS/USRX merger. COMS wanted end-to-end solutions, just like CPQ. Casey Cowell the CEO dumped USRX on COMS and quit. He jumped a sinking ship early just like Palmer claims to do.

COMS is now down about 60%. COMS had previous experience dealing with acquistions, they just couldn't handle that big a merger.

The same story with Wellfleet/Synoptics Bay. They failed miserably. The industry is lined with carcases of such mergers.

Even if the merger can be successul it will take a LOOOOOOOOONG time to work out.

Hpeace/Steve has jumped ship and bought DELL. Of course he'll tell you all that options stuff and how keeping CPQ has paid of in the past. But that was the past. CPQ never before had to deal with merging with a Dynasaur!!. Hpeace obviously thinks DELL is a better investment.

So for all of you guys who will be left holding the bag. SUCKERS!!!!!
