Watching the gop walk away from free trade was one of the more interesting things for me to watch. There isn't a single republican still supporting capitalism or free trade, especially with China, the highest populated country on the planet.

It's not like there were a lot of capitalists or free traders before Trump but the complete absence of capitalism and free trade is surprising. Give them free money from the government (stimulus, subsidies, tax cuts) and it's pro business. Make then work for it and it's socialism or communism.

I don't think Trump is an aberration. His party will not go away after he's defeated. He's done what no Democrat could dream of doing. He proved they don't have souls or intellectual consistency. They don't believe in anything. Trump is dumb and they want dumb.

Trump (and the US) need lies about security issues to keep China down but it won't last. At some point China will come back and it'll be ugly. They won't pretend we're the leader of the free world. They'll steal it away from us. Trump is trying to stop it from happening under his watch but it's inevitable.

Trillions in tax cuts resulted in trillions in stock buybacks instead of trillions in new R&D? A generation of morons did this and Trump is their leader.
