I agree with you to some extent, although there probably is some advantage for workers and companies if people can go to work and keep their jobs.

FWIW, several airline executives have waived their salaries for some period of time, either wholly or half of it. I think at least LUV and DAL did this. AAL's CEO Doug Parker waived his several years ago, taking only stock options for his salary. And many of them have also cut the pay of executives by some percentage.
