Since everyone here is throwing around opinions why not i toss mine into the ring.

Id like to address Mr. Perkins, you discussed the short issue of only 1/6 of the stocks daily volume. That figure may be accurate for the reported short position. Have you not thought of the unreported short position? There are ways to find that out. First of all when I used to trade with a brokerage firm as my occupation, yes we did short stocks with out going to the stock loan dept. Of course who has time. Some were unintential and others.....remains to be said....market makers are required to short stock inorder to "make a market" this usually creates unreported short. Generally, market maker traders are supposed to go look for that stock and cover. Some do not necessarily follow the rules. They become bullies and bully the others around. Also how about offshore accounts. What happens when the offshore account or market maker is required by the fed or compliance to cover. well there is another account somewhere else who then takes the postion and holds it untile the hot potato needs to be handed over again. This happens.

Shall I educate further on this or does this clear up this subject.
