Re -- Back in 1993 IBM's employees were pretty demoralized, and I'm sure Stockman would have said the end is near.

The picture you are painting is very different. IBM was not bought by an "upstart" pc company. Just goes to show your reasoning abilities. You should have stuck to fixing those MVS bugs, really!!

Besides IBM had and still has some real value. DEC's only value now is its people. The Alpha is dead. DEC was at IBM's stage 4 years ago.
