With all due respect CO, I think you have an incorrect perception of progressives. The left. I think you are confusing the far left with garden variety progressives, like me. My entire clan are progressives as well as most of my friends. We are responsible people and not a bit radical. We are progressive because we have studied social science and know what works best for a healthy and happy society e.g mitigating the terrible income inequality in this country which is a cancer on our society. In fact the majority of Democrats now call themselves progressive/liberal. And the majority of scientists call themselves liberal. Because they know science, including social science. The irresponsible far left is a very small minority. Almost everyone in my clan has advanced degrees, work very hard and contribute huge amounts of money to the poor and the environment and work very hard to make this a better country and world based on information and the science. The educated kids today are mostly progressive. And females are more progressive than males. Ask your wife and daughter if I am wrong :)>!
