Maybe prices are higher in Hawaii but that is high these days for that particular TV, as my brother in law just picked up that exact model about a month ago for $749. It does have a better picture than the one you are buying, and would be worth a couple hundred bucks more, but I would not pay over a grand for it. As others here have stated, OLED's are the gold standard for picture quality, but full array local dimming LCD's are pretty damn good for a lot less money these days, except when viewing them off angle. While OLED prices are down quite a bit, LCD prices are down more. Your choice. Samsung does not make OLED sets. LG and Sony do, although all use LG's screens.
