California flattened the curve - but eventually suffered a big breakout. So did many other states. Many, like NY, NJ couldn’t do even that. They’re huffing and puffing, but their efforts were a complete failure. Now, they playing Monday morning quarterbacks, trying to overcompensate... to look like they’re doing so much.

Looks like flattening the curve was futile and costly. When it started, we already knew that the overwhelming majority of victims were old or sick - but that knowledge wasn’t reflected in policies.

China is one of the countries that succeeded in suppressing the virus. They used a great amount of computing power and AI, literally tracing phones of hundreds of millions of people at all times - to determine when any one of them may have been at risk for exposure. That’s why they go crazy every time they have an even limited breakout - any one of them could destroy the entire effort.
