Sam your post does make sense.. but dissecting it is also interesting .. it shows that even among liberals and moderates in the US there is a very strong visceral fear of the Chinese.. more so than of the Russians by a wide margin.. I imagine it is because China is seen as a true competitor able to upend the balance of things.. whereas Russia is seen more as a street thug without ultimate power.. although not a great situation in HK much condemnation is duplicitous in the wake of Western transgressions over the years.. For some reason those are easy to forget.. I will say that I was very disappointed with Mr. Xi when he Putin'd his mandate (extended it) instead of grooming a proper successor to carry on his vision.. It does give me pause.. Jack of Hearts
