REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 28, 1998--Centura Software Corporation CNTRC today announced a reorganization of its worldwide sales management team to better enable the company's execution of its plans to position and sell Centura products in an open development environment. The reorganization has resulted in the promotion of several key individuals whose senior skills and experience, the company believes, qualify them for leadership positions in Centura's new strategic plan. John Griffin, most recently Director of Northern Europe, has been named Centura's Vice President and Managing Director of all European, Middle East and African (EMEA) Sales Operations, and will work at Centura's UK headquarters in Marlow (London). Griffin's previous experience includes 15 years at IBM UK and ten years as Managing Director for BMC Software for UK, Benelux, France, and Spain. Newly reporting to Griffin are the following: -- Patrick Velonis, former Centura Sales Manager, is now Country Manager, France. Velonis joined Centura 20 months ago as a Corporate Accounts Manager. He previously worked for Lotus, Computer Associates, and Powersoft. -- Heinz Hoereth, Central European Region Director, residing in Munich. -- David Lythgoe, Sales Director, MEA, residing in London. -- Armando Addati, Sales Director for Italy, residing in Milan. -- Gerard van Pernis, Sales Director for Benelux, residing in Amsterdam. -- Jit Aujla, European Finance Director, residing in London. Asia Pacific -- Roy Brady, previously Managing Director for Australia/New Zealand, has added new responsibility for Asian Operations. He will continue to operate out of Centura's Asia/Pacific support center in Sydney, Australia. North America

-- Antonio Espinosa has been promoted to Managing Director for North America. He was previously Director of Business Development for International Sales at Centura and is a four-year veteran of the company, joining in 1993 as Director of Latin American Sales. Japan

-- Ric Lucien has been named Country Manager for Japan, and is currently located at Centura Redwood Shores. Previously he lived in Japan for three years while working with Tohmatsu Company, an affiliate of Deloitte, Touche, Tohmatsu International. Latin America
