CANDIAN OILPATCH/HOT STOCKS
Canadian Conquest Exploration Inc.
CEN-TSE
October 2, 1996

Up $0.15 to $2.25 on volume of 1.4mil shares. The stock continued
to rise, although the company said it had no immediate news to
account for the increase.

A Canadian Conquest spokesman said that heavy institutional buying
had bolstered previous gains, and that the company expects to
release information in the next few days.

The management team that has turned the company around (the
stock traded at $0.55 little more than a year ago), has a history of
building up a company and selling it for a handsome shareholder
return. In 1994, President Michael Cooke and partner Bernie Broda
sold Cogas Energy Ltd. for a return of 2,379% on its takeover price.
