<The short position started in the high teens close to 20 a share. That's when the bond issue came out. If they got bought out lets say at 10 the shorts would still have big gains from the short sale and who ever buys them out would have to pay the debt off. Either way, the shorts make out. > Hummm, and if you went long at 5, then you would make out better than the shorts that didn't know when to take profits and watched SIII climb back up to 10. I understand what you are saying. It's just not valid arguement not to go long now.
