It seems to me investors, including myself for several months, have been hoodwinked into thinking life is not going to get back to normal for years to come. In the seashore town where I summer I see no discernible difference in crowds and people going about their lives as if the virus didn’t exist.

I do not approve of this attitude but I say this to show how easily people persuade themselves to get back to normal sooner than the gloom and doomers daily looking for the latest spread to get eyeballs.

Personally for several months I sold all my holdings and bought every so called scientists warning and my wife and I were seeing virus in everything we did. Initially the idea was to slow the spread so our hospitals would not be overwhelmed and as bad as it was and is that never happen.

I agree the US could have done and should be doing so much better but I don’t think the average flyer will have any lasting effect once they are vaccinated and free to fly. By the time that happens all the money in those beaten airlines will have been made. It’s when the public is piling in that will give me the sign it’s time to jump back out.
