Like a dog with a bone, liberal/progressives (true racists) just will not let go of this blatant lie. Go ahead and call post Civil War Democrats "southern conservatives" if you want to (debatable) but these racists were members of a Democrat party that is just as racist now as it was then; only today their racism is generally a more subtle form of psychological conditioning, and therefore more ugly and sinister. One small example: To trumpet "black lives matter" is to build on a false, racist assumption that they don't. Each black life, created in God's image, doesn't just "matter" it is sacred. To relegate black lives to the level of merely mattering is to reduce them to the level of plants/animals and sullies both the image and the glory of God.
