The Presidency has become a cult of personality since the media lionized Kennedy and "Camelot." TV really turned the office into the "Imperial Presidency." Before TV, you could only view the office holder through the grainy lens of a dim newspaper photo once in awhile. The President was far away and rarely heard or felt. Then, Dear Leader was before us every day. It's where the "appearing Presidential" nonsense comes from. Be a stiff board with no content for the TV camera. It is poisonous.
