Did you learn today that Nixon imposed affirmative action on racist construction unions? Do you know that Goldwater was a member of the NAACP? That JFK refused to sign Eisenhower's civil rights bill in 1957? That FDR refused to sign an anti-lynching bill and invented red-lining to prevent blacks from benefiting from US housing programs?

In 1937 Roosevelt introduced redlining: the color-coding of a map to highlight which areas of the city were deemed worthy enough for home ownership, and which areas were not.
