We sure do need something soothing these days, Mephisto. Yes, I am sick of the Washington mess also, but I do think it is serious, an that it is far from over. I do hope it resolves quickly, one way or the other, so that we can stop talking about such intimate topics on the news.
I went to the library today and read People magazine, Mephisto. There was a very nice article about Princess Diana, where children who had rare serious diseases and amputations from land mines were interviewed about how she made a difference in their lives. One little boy said she was so beautiful when she was holding him on her lap and looking at him that he wanted the moment never to end.
Princess Diana believed that the way go establish contact with a person was to touch their face, according to the article, and it showed a picture of her doint that. I was very impressed, never really having thought of it that way before, and so when my husband walked towards me in the kitchen this afternoon I brushed my hand against my cheek. He tripped over me from the sheer surprise, and then we both fell into the hot stove, so it wasn't very effective, but I know my daughter really likes it when I touch her face. I guess you really can't teach an old husband new tricks!!!
