Many of them have already taken govt money and they want more in order to avoid those layoffs that are currently scheduled to happen in October. Some of that money was given as grants, other parts of it supposedly was given in return for warrants. I expect Trump may just convert those to "free" money since he is good at spending OPM. If Biden is elected, I expect the govt to keep the warrants. Everything will depend on what happens with the virus. If it does "just disappear" either through a vaccination or by magic, then they'll be OK for the most part. But if this doesn't clear up in the next few months, they will be in big trouble.
