I hope we can generate some more discussion now that the markets are picking up.

Speaking of which, what does everyone think about the market now? We survived earnings season better than expected and the NASDAQ closed over 1600 for the first time in a while. I'm thinking it may be time to add some long positions. On the other hand, I haven't seen many stocks move consistently; they are weaving around in trading ranges which are good for short-term plays but harmful to a long-term position.

Opinions?

An earnings play today: TMBS. Earnings should be out before the open. I tried to pick up some at 13 3/4 yesterday and never got filled. Watch the news wires before the open. Could be a good opening buy if it doesn't gap up too much.

In the non-tech field, Alaska Air (ALK) had blowout earnings and a big jump yesterday. I'm thinking about going long here for a 50% play but I don't know much about airlines. I'm interested in viewpoints there, too.

Finally, if anyone is interested in making this a daytrading thread along the lines of the Winpa thread, I'd be happy to join in. I'm usually around before market open and until 1000 eastern time, and back on-line from 1300 - 1500 before it's lights out here in Mauritius due to the time difference.
